More Obnoxious Subject Lines: Congrats, you are DELETED

Here an update on my personal Cancel Your Subscription Campaign.

There's so much congratulations going on, I'm surprised anything is getting done.  Here's the new round of obnoxious subject lines I've been subjected to.        (Ha, ha...that just came out that way.)

  • Congrats, you are qualified
  • Congrats! Please Confirm Your Qualification
  • Congrats - another sale
  • Congrats - You got another sale.

When I see these subject lines, I know I've either seen it before or will see it show up again in short order.  (Please do me the courtesy of sending an email with an original, not obnoxious subject line.)

To all who fill my email box with such garbage, I reply  with the following:

Congrats -You are DELETED

Any ideas?

IM No-no: Great Affiliate Product Launches, but No Graphic

Here's another of my pet-peeves and it happens all to often.

I stumble along and find a great affiliate product to market, discover that they have an affiliate program. I get all excited only to discover that they have provided the potential marketer nothing but an affiliate link.

Now I am as creative as they come and I can come up with the sales pitch (after all, I'm a former sales professional), but no banners, no graphics?  You gotta be kiddin' me.  It really isn't that hard to make graphics and some of these programs have the most beautiful websites.  However, if you are graphically challenged, outsource the work.

I give them kudos for including an affiliate scheme in the launch plans, however it is like taking me to the ice cream store with money in my pocket and telling me I have to make my own ice cream before I can eat any.  Somehow it just doesn't feel right and it takes a long time to make and I'm ready to buy now!

Let's make a pact, here and now.

Raise your right hand and repeat after me:

"I promise, if I decide to launch my own product and draft affiliates to market my products for me,  I will include a full complement of marketing collaterals to make the affiliate's job easier.

Just so we are clear about what this includes, attractive banners of all sizes, email messages to include in newsletters and broadcasts, video if you have it and all the other lovely items that help promote a product.

Ok...I'm climbing off my soap box now.

BTW, I do have a fix for this, but I'll save it for another post.

Did I leave anything out?
