There is Nothing New Under The Sun
I firmly believe the sacred writings that say there is nothing new under the sun. I think that everything was placed here at creation, or at least the potential for everything was here, so there's really nothing new.
- Same things, different combination...
- same stuff, different admixtures
- same ingredients, different recipe
- same recipe, different cook (well, you get the idea...)
You know the old saying that "History repeats itself..." I also think this is part of what that saying means.
Someone has been there, done that, thought about it, tested it and there really is is no new capacity.
Now before you really get angry at me, and get your stockings all in a twist, let me explain a little further. Let me share with you what I do think is new, novel, and different....and never been here before.
That one thing is YOU.
- YOU, who has never been here before.
- YOU, with your life experiences
- YOU, with your unique frame of reference
Now, that should make you feel better. Let's take this a little further. shall we?
The secret ingredient Is YOU
If the subject is exactly the same, from the exact same pool of data, the difference is whatYOU bring to the subject.
That is what is new and different and novel: your voice, your spin, your perception and the way you convey it.
There's never been a YOU before, and they'll never be a YOU after you. Should make you feel pretty significant, huh?
This takes the pressure off!!
First of all, YOU are significant simply because you are created. That's the end of it.
Additionally, this notion keeps us from taking ourselves too seriously. If there's nothing new, I'm really can't take credit for all the greatness, can I?
Finally, there is a liberating beauty in this whole idea. You see, the truth is, no one can do you, but you.
Even though imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery and they may mimic and try to copy you, but rest assured, no one can do you better than you.
There really is no need to worry about the so called "competitors" in your market. Although they may have that same information, it is the difference in how it is conveyed that matters. Their style and tenor will resonate with some and it will grate on others. Likewise, yours will too. Don't look around watching what everyone else is doing, instead, do this one thing:
You do you and commit be the best YOU possible.
Tell your story and deliver your information, spiced up in your way and there will be a tribe that follows the authentic YOU.
